4 Indians arrested in Malaysia for smuggling turtles, drugs
Kuala Lumpur, Jun. 26 (HS): Four Indians have been arrested in Malaysia for smuggling. More than 5000 turtles and 14 kilograms of drugs have been recovered from them. Malaysian customs department has recovered 5,255 turtles from two suspects .
Central Zone Customs assistant director-general, Mohamed Yusuf said that the seizure was made on June 20 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, from the two Indian nationals.He says the men told investigators that the turtles, estimated to be worth 12,700 dollar were meant to be sold as pets in India.
Officials also found 14.34 kg of methamphetamine hidden in the hand luggage of two Indian travellers, who flew in from Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
