36 Maoists Killed in Deadly Encounter on Dantewada Border, Chhattisgarh
In a significant victory, security forces shot dead 36 Maoists in a forest along the Narayanpur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh today. The District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) launched the anti-Maoist operation yesterday, leading to an intense encounter at 12:30 PM today.
Following intelligence about Maoist presence, security teams were sent to villages under Orcha and Barsur police stations, where combing operations began. The encounter took place near Nendur-Thulthuli, with security forces recovering several assault rifles, including AK-series weapons.
The operation continues as forces cautiously pursue remaining Maoists who have retreated into the dense forest. This encounter is one of the biggest successes in the ongoing fight against Maoist insurgency in the region.
