32 Hezbollah members killed, 3,250 injured in walkie-talkie blasts
At least 32 Hezbollah group members were killed as the walkie-talkies they were using blew up on Wednesday. About 3,250 others were injured in the blasts.
The explosions came a day after thousands of pagers used by Iran-supported Hezbollah exploded across Lebanon killing 12 people and injuring about 2,800 others.
Hezbollah blamed Israel for this criminal aggression and vowed to revenge. Israel, however, has neither claimed nor denied involvement in the explosions.
Hezbollah turned to outdated pagers and other low-tech devices to evade Israeli surveillance of smart mobile phones.
The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to meet on Friday to discuss the pager blasts in Lebanon. The US also has expressed concern over the escalation of tension in the Middle East.
