3-days national dance festival inaugurated in Raipur.
Raipur/New Delhi, Dec 27 (HS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday inaugurated the three-day National Tribal Dance Festival at Science College ground here. The function was presided over by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The festival has been attended by around 1800 folk artists from 25 states, three union territories and countries including Bangladesh, Uganda, Maldip, Belarus, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
Rahul Gandhi, who arrived at the inauguration of the National Tribal Dance Festival, was welcomed by the tribals with their traditional instruments and dances. On the inaugural occasion, Rahul Gandhi could not stop himself and reached the main stage with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel when the folk dance troupe of Chhattisgarh were performing on the main stage. He took up the musical instrument of a folk artist and started playing it on the demand of some people and thereby made a strong pitch for the rest of the artists.
Tribal folk dancers from all over the country and abroad participated in the festival also took out a procession on the occasion and Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other guests also accompanied the folk dancers to the beat of the Maandar.
During the inauguration of the National Tribal Dance Festival, Chief Guest Rahul Gandhi on Thursday also released the new calendar for the year 2020 of the Government of Chhattisgarh. Based on the theme of Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh, this calendar contains various lines of the state song of Chhattisgarh.
In the inauguration ceremony, Rahul Gandhi said that in Chhattisgarh, tribals, farmers, mothers, and sisters are taking the economy forward by taking everyone along. This festival is also a result of the spirit of connecting everyone. Until the tribes, dalits, laborers, farmers, women and all sections of the society are united, the economy of the country could not be improved.
Speaking on the occassion, Rahul Gandhi lauded the work done by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and said that the state government has returned the land of tribals to them for their benefit.
To eradicate malnutrition, the Suraksha Abhiyan and Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme are being run which was getting good results, said Gandhi.
