28 dead due to severe cold in UP, Yogi distributed blankets to homeless
Lucknow, Dec 28 (HS): The entire North India is chilly these days due to severe cold. So far 28 people have died due to cold. According to the information, 17 people have died due to cold in Bundelkhand and central UP. Ten in Kanpur city, four in Varanasi, while two people each died due to cold in Fatehpur, Auraiya and Kanpur countryside. At the same time, a woman died in Banda. In Pratapgarh, a young man died due to cold. In Phulpur, Prayagraj, an old woman died from the cold and two farmers who were guarding the crop in the field died.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), December 29 could be the coldest day. At the same time, in Aligarh, the minimum temperature was recorded at 3.6 and a maximum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi Adityanath), who was on a visit to Varanasi visited the night shelters in the cold winter. He distributed blankets among the needy here.
