14 days remand for the Accused in Veternary doctor rape and murder case
Telangana:Hyderabad:November 30:Local magistrate has granted 14 days of remand to the four accused in a sensational rape and murder case of Veterinary Doctor Priyanka Reddy on Saturday.
Day began with thousands of youth and women reaching Shadnagar police station where the accused were stationed in police custody Mob lay seize to the police station for 6 long hours which prompted the police to invite the medical team led by Dr Srinivas and Dr surender of Shadnagar Area hospital to examine the accused in police custody itself instead of being taken to hospital.Lathicharge and teargas was used to keep the surging mob at bay .Police re-inforcements were pressed into service and shop keepers were pleaded to down shutters till the accused were safely transhipped from police station to Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad
On the directions of District Collector of Ranga Reddy, the local MRO, Pandu Naik, empowered with magisterial powers, rushed to Shamshabad police station, and remanded four accused-Mohammad Pasha, Chennakesavulu, Shiva and Naveen to the magistrate court.
Protests broke out across two Telugu speaking states in all major cities with students boycotting classes and demanding justice in the wake of the brutal gangrape and murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy on the outskirts of the city on Thursday. Thousands reached Shamshabad police station to express their solidarity with the family of the deceased Veternary doctor.
Minsiter of state for Home Mr Kishan Reddy ,Governor of Telangana Smt Tamilsai Soundarrajan also visited the family of deceased and conveyed condolences. When the reports last came in a massive student protest was organised as many demanded justice for the victim at the Cherlapally jail where the accused were lodged.
