125, bovine animals rescued, 9 bovine smuggling arrested

UDHAMPUR, February 27 (HS):Udhampur police has rescued 125 bovine animals and arrested nine bovine smugglers in Jakhani national highway and Chenani.

Based on reliable information regarding bovine smuggling, Police party of Police Station Udhampur a trap was laid at Jakhani national highway for checking of vehicles.

During naka checking, police party of PS Udhampur intercepted 8 of vehicles bearing registration number JK14A 9382, JK02AA 5191, JK02AP 6013, JK02AS 8196, JK02AA 0815, JK02AC 4327, JK02AE1552, JK02AJ 6275 for checking.

During checking of above said vehicles, 104 no. of bovine animals were found illegally loaded in the above said vehicles without any valid permission all the 104 bovine animals were rescued and bovine smugglers namely Abdul Majid son of Mohd Iqbal of Biazipura Tehsil and District Anantnag, Mohd sadiq son of Mohd Bashir of Talwara Distt. Reasi, Mohd Akram son of Mohd Yaqoob of Kass kassa District Reasi, Nawaz Hussain son of Abdul Latief of Felti Ramban, Zahid Ahmed son of Mohd Imran of Khanpora Nagrota Tehsil and District Jammu, Mohd Yousaf son of Mohd Jumaid of Ragora Teshil and District Jammu, Shahbaz son of Mohd Sadiq of Sheikhpora Teshil shangas District Anantnag, Mazid son of Shahi of Tinday Teshil. Bishnah District Jammu was arrested on spot.

In this connection, 04 Cases FIR under relevant section of law stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile another case at Chenani a Police patrolling  party of Police Station Chenani led by inspector Pushpinder Singh SHO PS Chenani under the supervision of Ahmed Shaafi SDPO Chenani, during patrolling near Samroli area police party intercepted two vehicles  bearing registration number JK14F 7960 Tata Mobile from toll plaza chenani and JK03A 8661from Samroli area for checking.

During search of the said vehicles, 21 no. of bovine animals were found illegally loaded in the above said vehicles without any valid permission.

 All the bovine animals were rescued and one accused person namely Des Raj son of Kheli Ram of Sarsoo, Tehsil Ramnagar was arrested on spot.

In this connection, two Cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Chenani and further investigation is underway.
