113 arrested in UP, FIR against more than 1000 people……
Lucknow,Dec 18 (HS): The Utter Pradesh government has started taking strict action against the protesters who have been carrying out violent protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), in several districts of the State.
The reports suggests, 113 people have been arrested so far creating violence. in demonstrations. The police have reportedly registered FIR against 157 identified and 1042 unknown persons in Mau district for spreading violence.
According to the reports, five persons have been arrested in Lucknow for the same and four others have been arrested for making objectionable posts on social media. Besides, case has been registered against 40 people in Barabanki and 14 people in Hardoi district of UP.
Similarly, 40 people, including 25 unknown, have been booked in Sant Kabir Nagar. Five AIMIM leaders have been sent to jail in Pratapgarh and five persons in Agra, 38 in Mathura and three in Pilibhit have also been arrested.
According to Additional Director General of Police of UP, Ashutosh Pandey, heavy force has been deployed at different affected places including railway stations, bus stands. In addition all the schools, colleges and shops have been closed in Mau for security reasons and section 144 has been imposed in the area.
