Mumbai, 19 June (HS): Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha had organized a national webinar in ‘Shrimadbhagwad Geeta and Maharana Pratap: In context with National Security and Human Rights’. The webinar was organized to mark anniversary of Haldi Ghati War, with the initiative of Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Rajneesh Kumar Shukla.
Elevent Vice-Chancellors of different universities in the country, besides Prof Shukla participated in the webinar. They expressed their views on the theme of the webinar
At the outset keynkote address was delivered by Ram Krishna Goswami, Chairman of Bharatiya Charitra Nirman Sansthan. He announced that a Geeta Sandesh Yatra (Rally to propagate message of Geeta), will be taken out from Haldi Ghati on July 18, The Guru Purnima Day and will culminate at Dwarka on July 24.
The first technical session was addressed by Justice Ravi Tripathi, Chairman, Gujarat State Human Rights Commission, Justice Gopal Krishna Vyas, Chairman, rajasthna Human Rights Commission, Shree Ramkrishna Goswami, Chairman, Bharatiya Chairtra Nirman Sansthan; Dr Rajendra Pencia, Vice-Chairman, Agra development Authority; Dr B Nag Ramesh, DGP, West Bengal; Pankaj Chaudhary, Commandant, Rajaesthan State Disaster response Force.
The participants in the second session were Prof R S Dubey, Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Central University, Prof H Venkatswarelu, Vice-Chancellor of , Kerala Central University; Prof Ganga Prasad Parsain, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura Central University,prof Ashok Aima, Vice-Chancellor of Jammu Central University ; Prof Neeraja A Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of Sanchi Bouddha Bharatiya Gyan Adhyayan University; Prof Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi central University, Mothari; prof Shreeprakash Mani Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Tribal Central University; prof S S Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor, JRN rajasthan University; prof Sushma Yadav, Vice-Chancellor of BBS Women University; prof K G Suresh, Vice-Chancellor of MLC Journamism University; prof Ram Mohan Pathak, Vice-Chancellor of Nehru Gram Bharti University.
Both the sessions were chaired by Prof Shukla of the host university. In his presidential address prof Shukla spoke about struggle between ‘Dharma’ and ‘Adharma’ and the issues of national security and human rights. He said that it is important to discuss these issues at national level. In order to resolve these issues lessons from Bhagwad Geeta can be taken. The soul of India lies in its cultural values like truth, affection, kindness, sacrifice etc. By inculcating these values among people, national security and human rights can be ensured.
Prof Shukla said, people remember Maharana Pratap for his efforts to protect human rights and national security. He sacrificed his life for security of the nation.
Prof Sanjiv Kumar Sharma stated that Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta gave a message to follow the path of Dharma, meditation for self-realization and discipline in life.
Prof Dubey mentioned about bravery with which maharana Pratap fought against Akbar to protect his motherland.
Prof Aima emphasized that we all should make efforts to ensure justice for all, while formulating policy for major objective of national welfare.
Prof Venkateswarelu spoke about bravery of Maharana Pratap against Mughals.
Prof Parsain opined that Geeta should be taught from primary school level across the country. Prof Tripathi said that the life and work of Maharana Pratap is a major inspiration for the younger generations.
Prof Suyshma Yadav focused on ‘Dharma and Karma’ and broder concept of Human Rights. Prof Pathak, Prof Saragdevot, prof K G Suresh, Dr B Nag Ramesh also expressed their views and emphasized the need for propagation of life of Maharna Pratap and lessons from Bhagwad Geeta in order to inculcate values among younger generations.
Love and respect for motherland is prerequisite for national spirit and human rights, the speakers emphasized.
Justice Tripathi and Justice Vyas explained the concept of National Security and Human Rights.
Prof Kripashankar Choubey made welcome address. Jayant Upadhyay of Department of Philosophy and Dr Supriya Pathak of Department of Women Studies were the co-ordiinators of first and second sessions respectively. Prof Chandrakant Rageet and Prof Hanuman Shukla proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was attended virtually by faculty and students.
