Modi cabinet approves a citizenship amendment bill

New Delhi, Nov 04 (HS): The Citizenship Amendment Bill was approved in the Central Cabinet meeting on Wednesday in Parliament House. After the approval of the bill in the cabinet meeting, it will now be presented in Parliament on 9 December. The RJD has opposed the citizenship amendment bill. Party leader Manoj Jha said that do not let this country become Israel, let it be Gandhi’s India.

Under the Citizenship Amendment Bill, illegal migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh will be given citizenship. Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian illegal migrants will get the benefit of this bill. However, Muslims are not included in this scope.
