PRAYAGRAJ, Feb 21 (HS): A Special MP-MLA Court in Prayagraj has rejected a petition discharging Cabinet Minister UP Govt and MLA from City South (Prayagraj), Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and his aides Kamal Kumar Kesarwani and Neeraj Gupta in an old case dated back to 2014 involving atrocities against Dalit under SC/ST Act. The court asked them to be present before it on March 20. Prior to 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Nandi, then in Congress and contesting from Allahabad Parliamentary constituency along with his supporters had indulged in an alleged fight with Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Jitendra Hela outside MP Reoti Raman Singh office in which he had allegedly held SP leader’s collar and threatened him with derogatory caste-based remarks. The police had filed a charge-sheet under relevant sections of IPC pertaining to atrocities against Dalits.
