Maddock Films’ horror-comedy ‘Thamma’ continues its impressive run at the box office, even as collections slowed slightly during the weekdays. The film is galloping towards the ₹100-crore mark worldwide, thanks to strong domestic and overseas performance.

Domestically, ‘Thamma’ earned ₹65.15 crore net (₹78.20 crore gross) in its first four days. The film opened with a ₹24 crore Diwali collection, marking a strong start. However, collections gradually declined over the next three weekdays. Despite the drop, the film limited daily dips to 25% or below, reflecting steady audience interest. By Friday, the domestic net collection stood at ₹9.55 crore.

The overseas response differed from the domestic trend. Initially, the film struggled outside India, as Diwali is not a holiday in most international markets. In the first two days, overseas collections remained modest. However, the weekend brought momentum. Audiences began turning up, and ‘Thamma’ earned nearly $1.6 million overseas in four days. Industry experts expect the film to surpass $3 million in its first week abroad.

Adding domestic and overseas earnings, ‘Thamma’ has now collected an impressive ₹93 crore worldwide after four days. On Friday, it surpassed the lifetime collection of Maddock’s recent romantic comedy ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, which ended its run at ₹89 crore worldwide. The film is projected to cross ₹100 crore by Saturday, consolidating its status as a box office hit.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, ‘Thamma’ tells the story of a journalist, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who gets entangled in a power struggle among vampires. Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui play key vampire roles. The movie belongs to the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, linking it with films like ‘Stree’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Munjya’.

The film has won praise for its humor, visual effects, and star-studded cameos. Audiences appreciated the mix of comedy and horror, which kept them engaged throughout. Analysts note that the film’s unique theme and connection to a shared universe have helped attract viewers both in India and internationally.

Market watchers highlight that holiday releases like Diwali give films an initial boost. Yet, sustaining momentum requires strong word-of-mouth and engaging content. ‘Thamma’ has managed both, limiting weekday declines and performing well over the weekend.

The combination of domestic consistency and overseas growth demonstrates Maddock Films’ ability to deliver commercially successful horror-comedy projects. As ‘Thamma’ approaches the ₹100-crore mark, it strengthens the studio’s reputation for blending genre storytelling with mainstream appeal.

In conclusion, ‘Thamma’ showcases a successful festival release strategy, a compelling cast, and a well-built cinematic universe. With four days of strong performance behind it, the film is poised to continue its winning streak at both domestic and international box offices.
