It all started with a simple Instagram AMA. A fan asked, “Why aren’t you following Chay Akkineni?” Surprised, she checked his profile and found he followed only about 70 people, including her. Flattered, she followed him back. That small moment led to DMs, conversations, and a growing connection.
In April 2022, Chay flew to Mumbai for their first breakfast date. Their relationship blossomed naturally. Sobhita described their romance as effortless, saying, “There was no mic drop. It just happened organically.”
As their bond deepened, they introduced each other to their families. Finally, Chay proposed, and they tied the knot in December 2024. The wedding took place at Hyderabad’s iconic Annapurna Studios, attended by close family and friends. It was a grand yet traditional Telugu ceremony, with elders overseeing the rituals.
Sobhita honored her heritage by wearing a gold Kanjivaram silk saree with real gold zari. Chay complemented her look with a classic white traditional outfit.
Before marrying Sobhita, Naga Chaitanya was previously wed to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The former couple announced their separation in October 2021 through a joint statement.
Chay confirmed his relationship with Sobhita in August 2024, sharing engagement photos.
