YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has moved to the Supreme Court, seeking to club multiple FIRs filed against him over his controversial comments on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, after a mention by Allahbadia’s lawyer, assured that the case would be listed for a hearing soon.

The controversy began when Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or join in once and stop it forever?” The video went viral on social media, sparking backlash from the public.

The Maharashtra Cyber Department filed an FIR against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and other guests involved in the show. The FIR claimed the content was obscene. The Cyber Department took action under the IT Act, demanding the removal of all 18 episodes of India’s Got Latent. The probe found that the show used “vulgar and obscene” language, further escalating the controversy.

In addition to Maharashtra, Assam Police also issued summons to Allahbadia and fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, who appeared as a guest on the show. On February 10, the Guwahati Police filed an FIR, accusing five content creators of promoting obscenity and engaging in vulgar discussions. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, supported the police’s action.

Allahbadia later posted an apology, admitting poor judgment for his remarks. Samay Raina responded by deleting all episodes of his show, which had accumulated millions of views. Through social media, Raina expressed his difficulty in handling the fallout and promised to cooperate with authorities.

The case continues to develop, with many keeping an eye on the outcome in the Supreme Court.
