Baahubali Box Office Day 4: Prabhas film sees Monday dip, total collection reaches ₹26 crore.
Hyderabad — SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic began its weekday run on a slower note after a strong opening weekend. The Prabhas-led period action film collected ₹1.65 crore on Monday, marking a steep 73% drop from its Sunday numbers. With this, the movie’s total domestic earnings reached ₹26 crore.
Released on October 31, Baahubali: The Epic opened well across regions. It earned ₹1.15 crore from Thursday previews, followed by ₹9.65 crore on Friday. Collections dipped slightly over the weekend, with ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday. However, trade analysts say the Monday decline shows the film’s first test beyond its initial hype.
Globally, the film grossed an estimated ₹39.75 crore in its opening weekend. The drop, though significant, mirrors trends seen in other big-budget releases this year. In comparison, Thamma, now in its second week, earned around ₹1.5 crore on Monday—slightly below Rajamouli’s latest venture.
In the South, Baahubali: The Epic continued to perform better, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rajamouli’s strong regional pull and Prabhas’s dedicated fan base kept occupancy steady in Telugu-speaking markets. In contrast, the Hindi version faced tough competition from Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, and The Taj Story. Analysts noted that while the Monday dip was expected, sustaining collections through the week will decide the film’s long-term success.
Trade expert Ramesh Bala said consistent weekday numbers could help the film recover its massive budget. “Rajamouli’s films usually hold steady after an initial drop. The key will be how Baahubali: The Epic performs in Tier-2 cities,” he added.
The makers also teased an upcoming animated spinoff titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, reportedly mounted on a ₹120 crore budget. The teaser hints at expanding the franchise into a new cinematic universe.
Rajamouli’s Baahubali series remains one of India’s most successful film franchises. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) set historic box office records, grossing ₹650 crore and ₹1,788 crore globally. The director now aims to build on that legacy with The Epic, which combines large-scale action, elaborate visual effects, and an emotional storyline.
Still, the market in 2025 poses tougher challenges. With multiple big releases competing for screens and audiences shifting toward digital platforms, maintaining box office momentum is harder than before. Despite this, Baahubali: The Epic continues to draw strong family audiences and repeat viewers in select southern cities.
As the week unfolds, all eyes remain on Rajamouli’s next moves and the film’s day-to-day collection trends. The industry now waits to see if Baahubali: The Epic can regain momentum and match the towering legacy of its predecessors.
