Ajith Kumar, the actor-turned-racer, experienced another crash during his practice run in Estoril, Portugal, this weekend. Speaking on the sidelines, he revealed the crash was severe but that he was unscathed. “I had a bad crash, but I’m doing fine,” Ajith said. He credited his team for quickly repairing the car and preparing it for the qualifying race. “Thanks to my team, they put the car together in time. It was a nerve-wracking moment for me,” he added.

Despite the setback, Ajith shared his excitement about returning to racing. He described his experience on the Estoril track as surreal and fulfilling. “It’s great to be racing here. This is a technical circuit, and my timing is improving. It’s been a good weekend so far,” he said, reflecting on his progress. Ajith also expressed his gratitude towards fans who have started following the sport because of his influence. “I’m happy they’ve embraced this sport I love so much. I’m grateful to my fans and everyone back home who follows me,” he stated.

This crash marks a month after Ajith’s earlier accident in Dubai, where he hit a barrier during a practice run for the 24H Dubai race. His team confirmed that Ajith narrowly avoided injury. “His race car hit the barrier around 12:45 pm. The security team responded immediately. Ajith shifted to another car and continued practice. Thankfully, he was unharmed,” they reported.

Ajith, who is currently balancing his passion for racing with acting, is focused on racing during the off-season. He was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and will soon star in Good Bad Ugly. He has made it clear that he will only shoot for films when he is not racing.
