Another unbelievable story
Lucknow,June 09(HS) Believe it or not,a teacher in Uttar Pradesh is reported to have worked in 25 girls schools and collected about Rs one crore as salary in 13 months. The new believe it or not story which has been in circulation for last three days got a new twist on Tuesday when the teacher in question (Anamika Shukla) appeared before the police and claimed that she was unemployed.
A probe has been ordered by the state government and, as an investigation is on, the truth will come out in a few days.At present, however,it appears that if the money has been paid it cannot be handiwork of one person.
The police, too, has the same suspicion.”It seems to be work of a gang”,a top official said.Land and education mafias were much active in the state before the Yogi government came to power. One of the groups might have become active again.
Five police teams have been formed to go into the scandal. One of the team which has visited Kashganj has found that the teacher who was working in the name of Anamika was actually Supriya. Her father was a MGNREGA worker. At some places Anamika has been found to be married and at some others she has unmarried status.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Ganhi Vadra and some other party men and women who were looking for an issue to put the Yogi government on the mat following arrest of party’s state unit chief Ajay Kumar Lallu has found one. They are calling it a big scam and comparing with Vyapam.
However, that is too far fetched. Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scam was far too big.It had involved politicians, officials and many others.Crores of rupees had changed hands.
The case is seven-year old.It was linked to entrance examinations, admissions and recruitment in Madhya Pradesh. In connivance with officials imposters had appeared in exams and selection was made on the basis of their answers. Several undeserving students thus got admissions in medical collages across the state.
Vyapam is a Hindi acronym for Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Professional Examination Board). It used to conduct 13 different examinations including those for selection of food inspectors, transport constables, police personnel, school teachers and dairy supply officers.A number of scamsters have been sent to jail and admissions of a large number of students cancelled. It has got no parallel so far.
