Dale Steyn reveals his best test spell
New Delhi,13 April(HS): Veteran South African fast bowler Dale Steyn described his best Test spell for seven against India in Nagpur and six against Pakistan at Wanderers.
Steyn did a question-and-answer session on Twitter last night when a fan asked him about his best Test spell, to which he answered as above.
Steyn took seven wickets in the first match of the two-Test series against India in Nagpur in 2010. Thanks to his excellent performance, South Africa defeated India by an innings and 6 runs. Steyn took the wickets of Murali Vijay, Sachin Tendulkar, S Badrinath, Wriddhiman Saha, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra.
At the same time, in the Test match played against Pakistan in Johannesburg, Steyn took 6 wickets for 8 runs in the first innings. Due to his excellent performance, Pakistan’s team was reduced to just 49 runs.
Steyn took the wickets of Mohammad Hafeez, Nasir Jamshed, Younis Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal and Rahat Ali. In the second innings against Pakistan, Steyn took five wickets and South Africa won by 211 runs.
Stein announced his retirement from Test cricket last year. Elaborating on his decision, Stein said it was best to prolong his career. He is available for South Africa in both ODI and T20 cricket.
The fast bowler represented South Africa in 93 Tests and took 439 wickets at an average of 22.95. Steyn has become the leading wicket-taker for his country in the longest format in 2019.
