Cannes Film Festival postponed due to coronavirus
Paris, Mar 20 (HS): Organizers have postponed the annual Cannes Film Festival to be held in southern France in May due to the proliferation of coronaviruse.
The Cannes Film Festival, one of the world’s largest film festivals, was scheduled to be held from May 12-23.
The speculation of postponing it had been going on for weeks. The Film Festival of the French city of Cannes is attended by filmmakers from around the world, famous film personalities and people from the entertainment industry.
The third day of lockdown has been aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus in France.
The organizers statement said, “Our condolences to the victims of coronavirus at the time of global health crisis and we express our solidarity with all those who are fighting the disease. Cannes Festival is scheduled on May 12 to 23 cannot be held. Several options are being considered to conduct it further. “
Earlier the release of big-budget films “Mulan” and “No Time to Die” was stopped. The theaters in London were closed, with many concerts postponed.
