Corona Effect: 168 trains canceled due to Corona virus
New Delhi, Mar 19 (HS): Indian Railways has canceled 168 trains due to Corona virus from March 20 to March 31. Railways have taken this decision after seeing the decrease in the number of passengers on the train. However, due to such a number of canceled trains, passengers who have planned to travel in rail may face problems.
Earlier, the Indian Railways had canceled 80 trains in view of the danger of corona. The canceled trains include 8 trains of Northern Railway.
These include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Nizamuddin, Rajdhani Express, Delhi Sarai Rohilla Pathankot Express, Ambala Cantt Sriganganagar Ambala Intercity Express, New Delhi Ferozepur Shatabdi.
There are also some long distance trains in the list of canceled trains. Apart from this, Indian Railways had released a list of 524 canceled trains till 7.30 am on Thursday. Mail, Jan Shatabdi, Superfast trains, passenger, express, and Humsafar trains have been canceled along with some special trains.
Railway has so far canceled 405 trains for Thursday, while 119 trains have been partially canceled. Apart from this, routes of 34 trains have been diverted till 7:30 in the morning.
