AG Perarivalan convicted in Rajiv Gandhi’s murder got parole

New Delhi , Nov 12 (HS): AG Perarivalan, convicted in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, has got parole on Tuesday. The court has given him a 30-day parol from November 12 to December 13. The court also ordered a police escort to AG Perarivalan.

Also on behalf of the court, AG Perarivalan has been ordered to attend his niece’s wedding in Krishnagiri and his father’s surgery in the hospital.

AG Perarivalan, convicted for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi has received one month’s parole. Perarivalan, who has been jailed for the last 28 years, has been given a call by the Tamil Nadu government. During parole, Perarivalan will not talk to the media in any way.

AG Perarivalan’s father is unwell and is undergoing treatment and that is why he has received parole. Perarivalan had earlier received two months of parole for a similar reason in 2017.

Recently, in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case, the Supreme Court has asked for the latest status report from the Multi Dispensary Monitoring Agency (MDMA). The Supreme Court has asked to submit its status report within 4 weeks. The court has given this order on the plea of ​​Perarivalan, convicted of murder.

The petition of AG Perarivalan said that until the investigation of the multi-dispensary the agency, his sentence should be suspended. In 2017, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Center and the CBI on the plea of ​​AG Perarivalan, convicted of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, seeking answers. Perarivalan has demanded the suspension of his life sentence in the petition.

His petition said that his sentence should be suspended until the investigation of the Multi Dispensary Agency (MDMA) is completed. This agency was formed on the basis of the recommendation of the Justice Jain Commission in 1998.

AG Perarivalan’s lawyer said that he has been in jail for 26 years and was convicted for supplying two 9-volt batteries, killing Rajiv Gandhi by making a bomb.
