The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Bathinda, Punjab, recovered nine iron rods from the Delhi-Bathinda Express track. The motive remains unknown, but the GRP has filed a case against unidentified individuals and is actively investigating. Across the country, authorities have found suspicious items on railway tracks. Investigators suspect these could be linked to conspiracies aimed at derailing trains.

On Sunday, a major accident was prevented. A goods train’s loco pilot noticed a gas cylinder on the tracks near Prempur station in Uttar Pradesh and quickly applied the emergency brakes. The cylinder, though empty, prompted an investigation. Similarly, on September 20, another accident was avoided when the Doon Express loco pilot saw iron rods placed horizontally on the tracks near Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, and immediately stopped the train.

The GRP lodged an FIR under sections of the Railways Act 1989 against unknown individuals, and investigations continue.
