NCERT books for class six to eight in UP’s Sanskrit Schools
Lucknow, 02 April (HS) : The UP government is making all possible efforts to provide better education to students studying in Sanskrit Schools of the state. In the Sanskrit schools of the state, only students from classes 9 to 12 were taught from NCERT course, but from this session, students from classes 6 to 8 will also read from NCERT books. However, Sanskrit will remain as compulsory subject in the course. With this, students of Sanskrit schools will be able to gain knowledge of Sanskrit as well as Computer and English.
According to a spokesperson of the state government promotion of Sanskrit language is in the high-priority list of the Yogi-led government. The government is continuously working on the modernization of the Sanskrit language schools and their upgradation, providing all the necessary facilities to the students. The efforts have finally started paying off. On the directions of the government, the Sanskrit Board will teach students from class 6 to 8 from NCERT books. Presently, 1164 Sanskrit schools are being operated within the state. There are more than 97,500 students studying in these schools.
Computer education in all Sanskrit schools
The spokesperson said that the Yogi government has left no stone unturned in the promotion of the Sanskrit language. Ensuring that the students studying in Sanskrit schools of Uttar Pradesh should also gain knowledge of computer education along with Sanskrit, computers are being installed in all these schools. Last year, computers were installed by the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan in Sanskrit schools of 72 districts. This has enabled students studying in the Sanskrit schools to acquire knowledge of Sanskrit and has also ensured that they are not deprived of computer education either. Therefore, computer, books, cupboards and tables etc. have also been given to Sanskrit schools by the institute.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued directives to provide free meals and accommodation to more than 4000 students of 200 Sanskrit schools of the state similar to the Gurukul system in the general budget for the year 2021-22, he added.
