1st Convocation of IUST, LG Sinha stress for Self Reliant India and Jammu & Kashmir
Jammu, March 1(HS): Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha addressed 1st Convocation of Islamic University of Science and Technology, Kashmir and stressed on imparting Outcome Based Education in educational institutions to bridge the gap between available Human Capital and Industry requirements.
LG calls for strengthening college-industry connect, covering Skill Gap, enhancing Industry Exposure & project-based experience while studying; underscores the significance of creating value addition in the field of education. Along with science and technology, our traditional sacraments values, our values of life also needed to be promoted in education curriculum, says the Lt Governor.
“We must focus on creation of individuality and turning the student into a powerful independent thinking individual to provide a solid base, a unique structure for innovative ideas” Lt Governor, said.
The LG lays emphasis on developing Student Centered Instruction Model to measure students’ performance and improving the quality and efficiency of graduating students as per modern-day industry requirements. LG terms Convocation as a new beginning for the passing out students, calls upon the student community to dedicate themselves towards building #AatmaNirbharBharat, a Self Reliant India and Jammu & Kashmir.
Future professionals are today’s IRC Students – Intelligent, Reflective and Compassionate Students who should work as Engines of Development and Innovation in all fields. Research in the fields of Alternative sources of energy, new technologies in construction require the attention of the University, said Lt Governor. He also congratulated graduating students and gold medalists for their academic performance and faculty members for shaping the young minds. He also extended his best wishes to proud parents & family members.
