NCM vice chairman complimented state government for launching innovative schemes
Telangana: Hyderabad: January 30 ( HS) The Vice Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities Atif Rasheed complimented the state government for launching innovative schemes such as Shaadi Mubarak which he termed as revolutionary and would be a role model for the rest of the country.
Atif Rasheed held a meeting to review the implementation of the Prime Minister’s new 15 point programme on minority welfare and various central and state government schemes at BRKR Bhavan on Friday. The state government also received pat for successfully running minority residential schools in the state. The various schemes taken up for the welfare of Christians such as graveyards, financial assistance schemes and Christmas gifts also received the praise of the National Commission for Minorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar IAS gave an overview of the vision of Honourable Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on minority welfare and various schemes of the state government for the welfare of minorities since the formation of the state. The progress achieved in the implementation of schemes such as Shaadi Mubarak, CM overseas scholarship scheme, Scholarship schemes, Telangana Minority Residential Schools etc were explained. Secretary Minority Welfare Nadeem Ahmed made a power point presentation and briefed the officials about the various schemes.
